FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Catuogno Court Reporting Offers Law Firms Data Security and Identity Theft Prevention
Security Solution Assures Regulatory Compliance

Springfield, Mass., Sept. 21, 2009—Catuogno Court Reporting and Sten-Tel Transcription announce a low-cost, comprehensive way to assure compliance with Massachusetts’ 201 CMR 17 regulations safeguarding personal information. The new data security regulations will take effect March 1, 2010.

The state’s tough new law mandates that all firms that do business with Massachusetts residents must have a comprehensive program in place to protect the security of personal information and prevent identity theft. Companies must be fully compliant with the security breach notification statute, which includes strict privacy and security standards. Law firms and other businesses that store personal information risk potential penalties of up to $5,000 for violating the provisions of the new regulations.

Catuogno Court Reporting’s Total Compliance Solution assures the security of electronic data by providing encryption for both email and cloud storage to protect sensitive information. The solution offers a secure, scalable platform for attorneys to easily and securely store and share files, providing continuous access to their legal documents.

“Law firms don’t have to invest any capital or operate their own data centers,” says company CEO & Founder Raymond F. Catuogno, Sr. “Our customers can focus on their core business and their clients. They can be confident that they are complying with the law and their client information is completely protected.”

Catuogno Court Reporting’s solution can be set up to automatically encrypt emails to ensure that even small law firms continuously safeguard clients’ personal information.
Catuogno’s cloud storage is completely secure, offering SSL encryption of content as it is being transmitted and 256-bit AES encryption for files “at rest” on the server.

“It is essential—and now in Massachusetts an issue of compliance—for law firms to protect their clients’ confidentiality,” says Mr. Catuogno of Springfield, Mass. “Cloud storage is perfect for law firms because it offers secure and controlled access from anywhere for lawyers on the go—via the internet, smartphone or desktop.”
